Description

Instructions:
.The Rearing Box is fastened to a honeycomb frame by cutting a whole into the foundation and inserting the box.
.Remove back cover and set cell cups.
.Place frame with Rearing Box in the brood chamber for familiarization- 1-2 days for first use. The Rearing Box should also be warm when the queen is introduced.
.”Breeder Queen” is introduced to Rearing Box and covered with the clear plastic wall (queen exclusive design) and placed in the Brood Chamber. One or two frames of brood should be placed near to the frame with the Rearing Box. Ensure that at least 8 mm space is provided between the Rearing Box and the near combs to enable free access for nurse bees.
.Feed the beehive 4 days in advance and during the laying period. Correct feeding for prevailing conditions is essential.
.Under favorable conditions the queen would lay eggs in the cells within 24 hours.
.Each brown cell cup is put in the yellow cell holder which is then attached to the brown cell cup holder by placing over it, previously attached to frame top bar. Transfer cell cups to queenless and broodless starter colony.
.After approximately 8 days, when the queen cells are sealed. Each cell can be protected with a roller cage and placed back into the hive as a natural incubator. Sealed cells may also be used for introduction to nucs or hives. The queen will emerge into the roller cage. This will prevent newly hatched queen from chewing down other cells. When virgin queens are in roller cages they can be marked before introduced into the mating nuc.
