Our unique, patent pending design should not to be confused with similarly sized dome kits that are made from low strength electrical conduit. Our uniquely designed struts are very strong and create a structure that can be covered with vinyl, greenhouse plastic, or finished out with dimensional lumber and readily available materials to create a beautiful, permanent structure. The Geodome Shelter Systems design allows for flexibility of materials to use to complete. When being finished as a permanent structure wall thickness can be from 2X2, 2X4, 2X6 or 2X8 depending on the amount of insulation desired. Our do it yourself kits make dome building a snap! Our precisely made struts bolt together perfectly. You can then finish it to the level of your choosing from a simple shelter to a highly refined example of materials and workmanship, as fits your taste and budget.
Multiple use possibilities: build it as a small permanent dwelling, guest house, greenhouse, meditation place, remote cabin, storage building, emergency shelter, animal shelter, or whatever your imagination comes up with.
Metal dome frame itself provides all the strength necessary. Other than the 2X6s in the door frame it does not rely on finishing materials for strength, allowing for great design flexibility and finishing options.
